I need assistance purchasing a new Mac:

Boulder PC does not recommend purchasing a new Mac to replace your PC unless you have a very specific need for it such as graphic arts, sound recording or high end video editing. And please do not be deceived by the hype, Macs are in some ways less secure than PC's and in the end the only secure operating system is Ubuntu Debian Linux.

So if you're buying a Macintosh to replace your PC because you were told that it was more secure than a PC, that was inaccurate advice. There may be less hassle but in the end the overall costs of owning a PC -vs- Mac are about equal. When it comes right down to it though PC's and Mac's are first and foremost pieces of hardware on which an Operating System and software runs. As mentioned the only secure Operating System is Ubuntu and it will run on either a PC or a Mac.
